Purchasing Manager at PT Bridon

PT Bridon (formerly PT Bripindo Utama) has been established in
Indonesia since 1977 as a multinational company involved in the steel
wire rope manufacturing located in Cibitung – Bekasi, East Java. The
company is owned by Bridon International Ltd part of the Melrose PLC
Groups of companies which both are well known organizations based in
the United Kingdom.

Markets supplied include oil & gas exploration and exploitation ,
logging, mining, construction, dredging, port authorities, fishing,
steel manufacture and fabrication, infrastructure, manufacturing,
transportation, shipbuilding and repair, original equipment
manufacturers (OEM), leisure and many more

Typical applications include hoisting and other duties on all types of
cranes, drilling lines, anchor lines, trawl wraps, standing rigging,
elevator, gondola, piling ropes, aerial ropes, excavator, bridge
cables, road barriers, ladder lines, container cranes, etc.

The distribution of steel wire rope is through a number of
distributors strategically placed near to the markets offer
availability from stock and technical support. The name of your

Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities:

Implement procurement strategy and policies
Forecast procurement needs
Monitor macro trends in supplier and contract base and implement
plans to react
Build and develop relationships with key suppliers
Lead the procurement group in all phases
Identify and develop training opportunities
Order materials and services as per negotiated and appropriately
approved. Review quotations
Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders
in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions
Maintain procurement files
Track Purchasing activity and measurements
Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with
users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take
corrective and preventative action
Ensure supplier compliance with site and company requirements for safety
Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing
strategies for products
Responsible for planning, developing and buying materials, parts,
supplies and equipments in a timely and cost effective way; timely
manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and
specifications
Develop and review purchase requests and ensure authorization as
necessary to facilitate the timely purchase of new material
Help to lower the cost and secure agreements
Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and
timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the
supplier

Requirements:

Good spoken and written communication skills
Excellent negotiating and networking skills
Mathematical ability, to work with figures and budgets
Good judgement and analytical ability
An organised approach
Accuracy and attention to detail
Good business sense
Leadership skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
3-5 Years in middle/senior management roles in a multi-national company
